About us

About us: Selfspecs is an independent project that offers free skill tests and short personality questionnaires. Each test says what it measures, how, and which published sample a result is compared with. What you enter stays in your browser: there are no accounts, and results are never sent to a server.

What Selfspecs is

Selfspecs is a small website of tests you can take in a minute or two. They show how fast you react, click and type, how well you hold numbers and patterns in mind, how your keyboard, mouse and screen behave, and, in a short questionnaire, how you describe yourself.

It is made to be simple enough for a child and clear enough for a grandparent: one task on each screen, plain words and big buttons. Everything that needs a longer explanation sits behind a button, so you can read it when you want to and skip it when you do not.

Why it exists

Many online tests give you a number and nothing else. A number is only useful if you know what it means, so every test here tells you how it was measured and what it can and cannot say. Where a published study exists, we compare you with it and name it. Where none does, we tell you that, and show only your own results.

You can read the details on the methodology page, and what we do with your data on the privacy policy page.

What it is not

Selfspecs is for curiosity and self-reflection. It is not a medical or psychological assessment, it does not replace a professional, and it is not connected to any test publisher, researcher or brand whose work is mentioned. Those names are used only to describe.

Who runs Selfspecs

Selfspecs is an independent project. It is free to use and needs no sign-up. It may show advertisements on some pages to pay for the running of the site, and never on the pages about the site, never while a test is running and never on the questionnaires that ask more sensitive questions.

The person or team who runs Selfspecs has not been named on this page yet.
